Supporting local community organizations one step at time!
May 19th, 2023
Back-up Rain Day May 26th, 2023
Every spring, the St. John Fisher student body collects donations for West Island children’s charities and embarks on a 2km walk through our neighbourhood.
On this afternoon walk the MUC police and Pointe Claire Public Security units join us to supervise the walk and ensure the safety of the children.
Don’t forget to send sunscreen, a baseball hat! This is also a great reason to bust out your SJF Apparel and let your school pride shine!
West Island Community Share
70% of the funds raised are donated to West Island Community Share, as they support a large number of local organization who impact the lives of our communities children.

Community Shares

La Corde
Youth Unlimited – La Corde
30% of the funds raised are donated to Youth Unlimited – La Corde who are breaking the cycle of poverty by education and compassion.
How it Works
Instruction and Pledge forms will be sent home with your child(ren). Be sure to clearly mark your child’s name at the top of the pledge form.
Collecting: We suggest that your child collect the funds at the time of the pledged to avoid a second visit to the individual’s home.
Receipts: A tax receipt will be issued for donations of $25 or more, provided that the complete home and email addresses of the donor are clearly marked on the pledge form. The tax receipt will be issued by the charity benefitted.
Money: Once you have completed collecting your pledged funds can be e-transfer by May 26, 2023 to sjfhands.finances@gmail.com
Be sure to specify:
Community Walk & your child(rens) name.

If you are interested in volunteering by cheering on the students along the route or distributing freezies:

A big “Thank you” in advance for all of your support in this very worthwhile endeavour.
